#WIP - Work in progress....
Hello! Trying something new- These pieces are quite close to complete, and are unframed. If you see something you like, and want to provide input on the frame, send me a note here. Thank you so much!
Down the Road, 2020 #wip
13 x 20 inches unframed. This piece is well on its way with all but a roof or two filled with color. Still need to etch the lines, sand fields and apply an extra coat of paint here and there. Frame will likely be a lighter wood frame...possibly a double stacked white oak? But I could see fir or even red cedar working with this piece-- maybe YOU want to decide....just send me a note! |
Row of Color, 2020 #wip
5 x 7 inches unframed. This piece was these four colors needing to be together and THAT deep umber horizon! My stroke has a lot of character and movement. These are acrylic washes on birch sided ply- I still need to etch lines and back-fill with paint. ANY wood frame would look great with this piece- but I think I love it most with a rich mid-century TEAK frame which turns this little piece into something mighty!! |
SOLD. Girl With a Red Hair Tie, 2019. SOLD . *this piece is now framed and finished. Again, inspired by some abstracted figure graphics I spied on Pinterest and, Modigliani- who is the my master of portraits. I have admired and been in awe of Modigliani from the moment I learned of his work. |
Flower, 2019. #DONE, (click here to see)
475 framed. finished- . Flower came to me after scrolling through Pinterest looking for color palette inspo. Pinterest is so tricky putting a steady stream of amazing and classic mid century graphic prints and drawings in front of my face. Of course I love the lines, and the entirely abstracted colors. |
sold. Green Grass Field Horizon, 2019. #DONE
. For this piece, I saw a lot of deciduous trees in the horizon. I have plans to add a few more (see detail photos). This piece is nearly finished- the lines have been carved but are not filled. And I still need to add in additional trees, which will bring the horizon to the frame edge. Frame: This frame is built, but still unfinished. It's a great 'two-step' frame, but I can't decide if I should stain it black or leave it waxed/natural. YOU DECIDE! |
The Hood, 2019. #wip 165 unframed(finished apple-ply sides) 275 framed. This piece happened after I worked with a couple 4th grade classrooms on a group art auction project. I was so inspired by the incredible work the students created- it was spontaneous, untrained, free, uninhibited and it all turned out SO GREAT! A few layers on the houses are needed and the lines need to be re-drawn with charcoal pencil. Frame: This piece holds up nicely unframed- I would finish the apply-ply profile. If your preference is to frame, I think this piece would look very smart in black stained, or natural wax treated fir. |
